FAQs & General Retreat Information for
Camp Ida-Haven
Can I leave the premises?
We request that once you’ve checked in for the retreat that you stay on-site for the duration of the event.
What does a registration ticket get me?
Your registration ticket includes all meals (Friday dinner through Sunday breakfast), unlimited coffee and tea, and lodging.
What type of lodging is available on-site?
There are eight cabins that each sleep 12 via six sets of bunk beds and two private bathrooms. We recommend limiting the number of women to each cabin to 8 or less to prevent overcrowding.
Additionally, the Main Lodge has 20 dormitory-style rooms located on the 2nd floor above the dining area. Each room can sleep 4, but we would recommend only 2 women per room to prevent overcrowding. There are two community bathrooms with showers available in the hall on the same floor.
What types of meals are provided?
Camp Ida-haven is a vegetarian camp and the meals are homemade and delicious! If you have any dietary restrictions, the camp will do their best to accommodate, but please email loveidw2w@gmail.com to make requests no later than October 5.
Snack Shack
There is a Snack Shack set up in Cabin #5! Attendees are encouraged to bring snacks and other goodies to share. Coffee, tea, and hot cocoa are provided. There is limited refrigerator space if needed. To prevent unwanted visits from wildlife, food is ONLY permitted in the Snack Shack and the Main Lodge.
Recycling
Please consider bringing your own coffee cup/mug and water bottled to cut down on the use of disposable cups. Unfortunately, there are no recycling bins available at Camp.
Medical
Medical services are not readily available on-site. Please keep in mind that there are medical services located in McCall.
St Luke’s McCall Medical Center (1000 State St, McCall, ID 83638)
What to bring?
Casual, warm clothing. Bringing layers for the cool morning and evenings can help your comfort level. There will be opportunities for bonfires in the evenings so plan accordingly. The weather in McCall is unpredictable at this time of year. Be sure to check your weather app before packing and heading up to camp. Camp Ida-Haven does have merch, including sweatshirts, if you don’t bring enough!
Bedding, towels, and any personal toiletries. None of these will be provided.
Community snack food. Please bring your favorite munchies to share in the Snack Shack (in Cabin #5).
A flashlight for navigating the dark, and often uneven, paths at night around camp.
Yoga mat or large towel & any props you have or might need for a yoga or movement class (optional)
AA and/or Al-Anon literature (Big Book, 12x12, etc…)
A journal or notebook
Reusable coffee cup and water bottle.
Most importantly… an open mind, a loving heart, and a willingness to learn from other women in recovery!
Is there anything I should not bring?
Support a safe environment for women's recovery by adhering to the following:
Leave behind significant others, male friends, unregistered women, children, and pets.
Illegal drugs, non-prescription drugs, alcohol, firearms, and fireworks are strictly prohibited.
Consider disconnecting from cell phones for a more spiritually enriching experience.
Does Camp Ida-Haven have cell service?
While Camp Ida-Haven is set in a remote area, there are pockets of services as well as Wi-Fi available. However, we ask that you consider turning off or using airplane mode on your cell phones during the retreat. Be sure to respect the spiritual atmosphere by minimizing distractions for yourself and others.
Is smoking/vaping allowed at Camp Ida-Haven?
Yes, but ONLY in designated outdoor areas. Please be respectful by limiting your smoking or vaping to those spaces and utilizing appropriate disposal cans for butts.
